Analysis

Design and design optimization require a large number of repetitive analyses of a part or a structure so that all crucial design requirements are satisfied. Therefore, fast analysis tools are one of the essential elements of a design activity. However, computational speed should not be accomplished at the expense of accuracy and fidelity. At ADOPTECH we put special emphasis on development and use of accurate and efficient analysis whenever possible. Following is a summary of some of our analysis capabilities.

Specialized Analysis

ADOPTECH has extensive experience in tailoring analysis tools to the requirements of a design situation, as well as tailoring the designs to meet the performance and weight requirements.

Specialized methods may be designed to produce a high degree of accuracy for a class of structural analysis problems such as linear and nonlinear analysis of

Among the specialized analysis capabilities, we have extensive experience in writing symbolic analysis programs using Mathematica.

Standard Analysis

For complex shapes and difficult loading cases, where some of the specialized analysis methods may not be a viable solution, we employ state of the art finite element methods using some of the industry standard codes.

  • NASTRANTM
  • ABAQUSTM
  • GENESISTM

The symbolic FEM capability allows us to analyze structures symbolically, leaving some of the analysis parameters as symbols that can be varied after the solution to investigate the response quantities as a function of the parameters of interest.

Composite Materials and Structures

One of the strengths of the ADOPTECH personnel is our expertise in analysis and design of structures made of composite materials. Traditionally Virginia Tech, where all of our engineers received their degrees, is one of the leading institutions in composite materials and structures research. Over the past two decades, extensive research was conducted by various groups and centers such as the Center for Composite Materials and Structures and the NASA/Virginia Tech Composites Program. We draw upon the experiences gained in those institutions to address industry problems. Following is some of the capabilities we offer in Composite Materials and Structures.
